BUTT Encoder (Broadcast Using This Tool)
This guide explains how to broadcast live using BUTT Encoder, a simple and lightweight tool for streaming microphone or line-in audio directly to your Shoutcast 2 server.

Note: BUTT is only for live microphone/line-in audio. It cannot play playlists or music files.
Install & Set Up BUTT
1. Download BUTT
Download and install BUTT from:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/
Configure the Encoder
2. Open Settings
Launch BUTT and click the Settings button.
3. Add a New Server
Under Server Settings, click Add.
You will now enter your Shoutcast 2 server details.
4. Configure Server Details
Use the connection information provided in your MediaCP service overview.

Start Broadcasting
Once your server is added:
- Select your audio device (microphone or line-in)
- Click Start Streaming
BUTT will connect to your Shoutcast server and begin broadcasting immediately.
Notes
• Make sure your microphone input level is stable and not clipping
• Ensure AutoDJ or DJ Priority settings allow your connection
• Stream title updates may be limited since BUTT cannot play files
